Jenny’s single ‘No One Loves Me Like You’ was released on Friday 22nd September 2023. The track was announced as being the second single from her upcoming album ‘Staring at the Moon’ which is due for release in May 2024.
Reflecting on the track, Jenny says, “I have always wanted to write a song that describes the feeling when someone is so in love, that everything around them fades into insignificance. The reason I announced this track at the same time as the album is because it embodies the story of the album in a nutshell. The track tackles the narrative that the power of our love is so much more supreme than anything above us despite us being so inferior to the power and mystery of the universe. When we look into space, we see the moon and the stars and it becomes clear how small and insignificant we are in the grand scheme of things. Despite this, the power of love completely dominates and consumes any sense of insignificance we are faced with in that moment. The characters in the song have a longing for their lover, and when they look at the moon they are reminded solely of them. This is increased by the reality that they can always look at the same moon no matter where they are in the world. This juxtaposition between big and the small is a theme throughout the album which tackles many grand world themes equally as much as it does the deeply personal and emotive. ‘No One Loves Me Like You’ embodies this juxtaposition in that the instrumentation is epic, grand and orchestral, while the lyrics and vocal performance are soft and simple. I think this is my most romantic track to date.’
lyrics
Sunlight, on our face,
Found our happy place,
Where we are laughing, into space.
No one loves me like you,
No one loves me like you.
Let us lose this day,
Find our own escape,
All of this talking, taught me what I have,
Taught me that I can,
Taught me who I am!
And I’m in the ocean, staring at the moon,
Learning my lesson, no one loves me like you.
And I would be lying, if I told you I knew,
That you were the real thing,
No one loves me like you.
No one loves me like you,
No one loves me like you.
And I’m in the ocean, staring at the moon,
Learning my lesson, no one loves me like you do,
And I would be lying, if I told you I knew,
That you were the real thing,
No one loves me like you.
And I’m in the ocean, staring at the moon,
Learning my lesson, no one loves me like you.
